With my over 30 years’ experience at school level in teaching and management roles, I have the invaluable experience to share with up-and-coming teachers to the profession so that they could grow to be better educators. Many teachers graduate with their teaching qualifications, but no-one really “teaches” you how to cope with the day-to-day challenges of school life. Sometimes the daily grind of teaching life can be so overwhelming, and you are tempted to just throw in the towel. Well, what if you could have an outsider to hold your hand until you gain confidence to hold your own in the classroom? Wouldn’t that be just wonderful – just like top athletes have a sports coach? For the last 16 years and presently I run the after-school Kip McGrath tutoring centres in Mudgeeraba, Varsity Lakes and Ashmore as well engage in my favourite past-time of writing in the form of motivational articles, travel blogs and development of curriculum resources in literacy and numeracy.
