We conduct a free assessment to give us an idea at what level your child is working on in terms of their school maths whether it be Catch-Up, Keep-Up or Get Ahead. Based on the assessment results, we will prepare an individual learning program based on their specific needs.

Catch-Up Maths Program
Students who are enrolled in this program are usually from Years 1 – 9 and are behind their year level in maths. The philosophy of our Catch-Up Maths Program is to go back to where the student has gaps at the lower levels and to build up their foundational concepts in maths. Their lesson plan is based on their assessment results and the overall goal of their tuition is to catch up to their current year level.
For students in primary school, our focus is going back and filling in the gaps in their learning. We know from experience that once the “missing blocks” in their maths curriculum are filled, they will be able to hold their own in class at the current level. Further, it is our policy to support the good work done by teachers in the classroom setting and to reinforce or revise curriculum concepts that are being taught during the school day. All students proceed at a different pace based on their ability level but on average it takes us a term to catch up on a year level of maths.
Keep-Up Maths Program
This program is suitable for students who are almost or at their year level. The Keep – Up Maths students work on their current year level math topics while reinforcing other math areas. We are keen to work in partnership with the school to ensure that the student receives every opportunity to succeed in enhancing their confidence and performance at school. With your permission we contact the school to let them know what we are working on to bring your child up to speed. Most schools welcome this collaborative effort and even suggest topics that we can concentrate on during the tuition program.
Get Ahead / Extension Maths Program
This program is suitable for students who are working above their year level in maths. In this program while we work on the maths curriculum topics which is above the student’s year level, we focus a lot on math application questions in the form of problem solving and lateral thinking. Students who work on this level usually qualify for Scholarship entrance.
High School Maths
Students who enrol into this program work specifically on their school math topics. The bring in their math topics for the term from school and the tutor models and works out step-by-step a math question based on a specific topic and the student continues working out more examples. The tutor explains further and supports the student while they are practising similar examples. If there is a need, the tutor will go back to pre-required learning in that topic so that the student will have a better understanding at their present year level. The tutor also supports the student in their assignment work as well as preparing for upcoming tests and exams. We cater for all students from Year 7 to year 12:
This tuition consists of short courses with the focus on specific math topics which brings the student up to speed to satisfy required learning for their present year level maths. It is important that students understand basic, foundational concepts to make meaning of their year level curriculum. Students sit a pre-test on that topic, the areas that need to be worked on are highlighted and a course of instruction is entered into. A post test will ensure mastery of concepts. Topics include:
Maths is a logical, easy-to-understand topic with a little support.
